Description

6/10/23: I finally upgraded my CPU from the 10700f to the 11900k, simply because its a beast of a CPU but also because the 10850k and the 10900k were expensive and I also didn't know that 11th gen supported pcie 4.0 so once I found out that Z490 can support pcie 4.0 with a simple bios update and a upgrade to 11th gen. I didn't waste any more time, and quickly snagged the 11900k for 300$, now I have access to pcie 4.0 on my 980 pro and wow it is a huge difference, and along with 4.0 support came along Re-bar which I enabled in the bios to also improve my gaming performance, I am super happy with the results.

1/12/23: started from an HP Omen 25L and upgraded to here, the first upgrade I bought for the omen was a second stick of ram to access dual channel, then I bought an MB311L case from cooler master along with the ML240L V2 and the RM850 from Corsair, and the next upgrade was a bigger case so I then went out and bought the TD500 which is an amazing case may I say, after saving some more I then went out and bought the MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Carbon ATX Motherboard and a 980 Pro for the faster boot drive and 32Gb Ram kit @3600mhz from Teamgroup Team T-Force, I then waited a bit to then buy a 2TB SSD from silicon power for my game drive, and now the biggest upgrade that I've been saving for was a new GPU, now I was stuck on what to get everyone I knew has a 3060 but I originally wanted to buy a 3070 which was just barely out of my budget, after long thought I decided best of both worlds and bought a 3060ti LHR, and coming from a 2060 this was a MASSIVE improvement, I've been able to crank the settings to high on my favorite games and I've been able to maintain 144fps while doing so, and I don't plan on using this GPU for mining so I don't mind that is a LHR card, and I'm not done with upgrading just yet, I still plan to upgrade my processer from the 10700f to maybe a 10850k or a 10900k I'm still thinking but that will be awhile before I move onto that.

Part Reviews

CPU

coming from a 10700f, this thing is a beast

CPU Cooler

amazing cooler I've had no issues and with very easy install, and the cooling performance is great

Motherboard

beast of a motherboard has plenty of power delivery for overclocking, and it looks cool

Memory

very good purchase it is cheap for 32gigs @3600 and it has fantastic rgb and xmp works like a charm.

Storage

never heard of silicon power in my life, but I needed a big game drive so I bought this cuz it was cheap for the storage on an SSD, and I didn't want a slow HDD, let's just say if I need storage I might be looking for more silicon power products

Video Card

coming from a 2060, this thing is amazing, and totally worth my money

Case

couldn't have chose a better case for myself, amazing cooling performance, and plenty of fan mounts

Power Supply

thought of buying an RM850x but this thing has treated me very well and was cheaper at the time

Custom

bought it mainly for ARGB, but I can see this useful to someone with a really heavy GPU
